A few years ago when Dodges became Fiats, Fiat changed the name of the Dodge truck line to the Ram truck line. There isn't "Dodge" anywhere on a new Ram pickup. Dodge only has cars and minivans now.

RAM truck (not Dodge) search update

as I continue research on this topic I find that '09 and up RAM trucks have 3.55 gears more often then not, and 4.7 liter engines, at least the used ones that I am finding online around southern OH... the Durango/Aspen is a viable towing option, but I heat with wood in the winter and having a pickup box is necessary to me...

My lists of must haves for RAM 1500 truck include, 5.7 hemi, 3.92 gears with limited slip, 32 gal tank (hopefully), some luxury options (I'm not an interior/entertainment junky), HD trans and engine cooling, 5 foot box, crew cab and at least a 2010 model year with less than 100K miles on it... all for less then $24-5K... Can this happen? Anybody want to sell???

will probably pull the trigger on this purchase in the next 30-40 days... I am hoping for an influx of new (used) trucks as the model years change and people snap up limited 2016 models on the lot...

apologies to RAM (not Dodge) truck owners... I own a Dodge '01 van, so I was ignorant of the name change... thanks for clearing that up...

Believe it or not, they are lease returns and auctions. That's how we found our truck. We went to our local dealer and spoke to the used car manager and he searched auctions that dealers have excess to. I gave the UCM the list of options gearing, trans, engine and most importantly the complete tow package. It took about a month but got what we were looking for. Our RAM has a 10,250 towing capacity. I added review camera and airlift 1000 bags. Tows our TT like a dream.

Happy Camping!

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 express. It is black and in perfect condition. My wife drives it everyday. It has 5.7, 8-speed, 3:92 gears, load range E Michelin tires, 5000# air bags on rear and around 27K miles. I have a new 3500 company truck now so I use that to tow our 32' camper. I have thought about selling the 1500 to get my wife another car. I would need close to $28K for it. I live in WV. If your interested send me a PM and I will give you my number so we can talk on the phone about it.

The Canadian trucks are fine. Your just seeing lots of them because the American dollar is crushing our Canadian dollar right now. The American dealers are buying up the used ones from up here and making good coin on flipping them in the states.

I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Express with the dual exhaust, 20" rims, and the 5.7L Hemi. My 28DBUD weight 5900 Dry, figuring 6,700 loaded. My truck pulls it just fine. I may bag it in the back as the coils are a tad soft, but I feel in complete control and have plenty of motor to pull it. My 2004 AVY that my wife and I traded in for this truck....Not so much, plenty of "pucker" moments. We also have the integrated trailer brake controller. I love it! Our truck also cam from the factory with the Tow Package, which included the HD Engine oil cooler and HD transmission cooler.

No-----It's like not calling a Chevy Silverado a GMC!!!! Ram is now it's own Division, just like Chevrolet is it's own Division. All you gotta do is stay up with the times, it's really that easy!!! I own a RAM LARAMIE, not a DODGE LARAMIE!!
