Any one tow HT Flagstaff Classic Lite with 1500 Silverado XLT HD package
My husband and I are thinking of purchasing a HT Flagstaff 8524 or 8526 RLWS and will pull with our Silverado. Is anyone out their currently pulling with half-tons? Please share your experiences!
Thanks,

The 8524 shouldn't be an issue, and it is a nice floor plan.
If you put air bags on your truck, you could probably handle the bigger fifth, although a stiffer rear gear would be nice.
Are you talking long-distance hauling, or just shorter hops?

Even tho' the weight police here don't approve, I have a Silverado ext cab 1500 and pull a 12Flagstaff 8528RKWS and have no problems whatsoever. Do I win drag races with 3/4 t, 1t or 1-1/2 t trucks, NO, but I have averaged 11mpg and don't really care what the WP say. Would I recommend others to do it? I think that is up to the individual to make up his own mind. I do have airbags to get back the 1"-1-1/2" drop in the bed when I set the 5er on it. Also have LR E tires, so I'm not worried. Have towed it over 5000 miles with no problems.

We would be going everywhere in ours . We are also considering the 8528IKWS. We just don't want to be overweight. We don't really pack too much because we do laundry etc on the road. We have gone to Alaska in the past in my parents rig but they have a dura max but our truck is not is same category! Anyway we are both retired and have a son in Phoenix and we just want to go and do whenever we want. I prefer the scenic routes but of course my husband will be doing the driving. I guess if we don't like the way it handles we can always get a bigger truck!I really appreciate the responses! Thanks so much!

We chose the 8528RKWS because of the rear kitchen and pantry, which gives it a 1075 pin wt.

I forget to mention our truck is a crew can with a short bed. I don't know if this will make a difference or not?

We tow our 30WFKSS with a 06 Silverado 1500 6.0 Vortec Max engine and I believe a 4.1 rear axel. We had no issues, we do however use dual sway control.
