Any recommendations on Brake Controller for 09 Tahoe?
I have a 2011 FR Surveyor Sport dry weight 4450. Towing with 5.3L 09 Tahoe w/factory HD towing package. Any recommendations on a brake controller? Is it true there is no longer a plug in from GM under dash? I'm looking at a Tekonsha P3 inertia controller, what say you?

There isn't an actual plug, but the wires are there to connect to. If you go to etrailer.com, they usually have videos for installing just about anything on a Chevy. The Prodigy P2 or P3 are typically what most use.

Hard to go wrong with that P3 you are looking at. I have it and like the extra diagnostics, but the P2 (w/out the extras) will be as good a BC.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado LT, 5.3 V8, bought my P2 through Etrailers.com, watched their video and had it installed in less than an hour, includes getting tools out and putting up. I pulled my tt around the neighborhood and adjusted it, no problem. I checked it out good when I had the blow out on my left rear truck tire doing about 60 mph. Everything worked as it was supposed too....

Like the P2, which I have used four the past four years. Have traveled all across the country, in all types of terrains. Has functioned well both in flat country and mountains roads.
Would recommend either a P2 or a P3.

I have a Prodigy P3 I bought last year when I got the TT. Liked it over the P2 as it does not have to be level to operate properly.

either Prodigy would be a great choice. love my P2 that only cost $100!
yes, GM did away with the plug for the BC in the '07 truck/SUV lineup.
i just spliced the OEM Prodigy wire harness to the BC wire bundle under the dash, in my '07 Avalanche.

I love my P3 that only cost $115 shipped via adventureRV on eBay! It installed very easily. I do wish there was a way to shut it off when I am not using it though...

We really liked our p3 when I used it in the armada. Tekonsha has really good customer service and stands behind their product. No questions, no arguement, just a replacement mailed if you have a problem with the controller.

Tekonsha wireless. No messy wiring to deal with and you just plug the controller into the cigarette lighter. I use it on my x5 and it is great.
