Anyone towing with 2015 F150?

My 2015 ordered F150 Ecoboost is due to arrive in about 2-3 weeks. This truck is replacing my 2011 Ecoboost which did a great job towing for me. I ordered Lariat 4x4, 3.5 Ecoboost, max tow package, power tow mirrors and extended 36 gallon fuel tank.

I was wondering if anybody on the forum has been towing with a 15 F150 and what their thoughts and experiences were.

Thanks

I have been, truck in my sig. So far so good, have about 100 miles thus far (not too much) with the RV maybe another 200 with my utility trailer and a 4000LBS tractor.

Glad you got the mirrors, they are awesome. Power is not an issue, brakes seem to keep up and the extra large fuel tank is a must.

Not much to tell at this point. Next trip in June is 700 miles round trip, I think I'll have better info at that point.

Only long enough to set the WDH up. Seems to do fine with my 5500lbs. I was hoping to get some trial runs in but the dealer has had it almost as much as I have. So, TT comes home this weekend and then the next it's off to Charleston SC. with only 600 miles on the ticker.
The F350 was much more forgiving with the tongue weight. I had to upgrade to 1200lb bars from 800lb.

Don't get the two tone paint

"Don't get the two tone paint"

I didn't order the two tone paint, but why do you say that?

And, the dealer has the truck or the TT?

Dealer has the truck.

Apparently, the factory is not set up to do two tone paint so the out source the lower portion of the paint job.

What I got was dirt in the out sourced portion, red bleed through and one spot that appears to have had a piece of plastic laid into the paint and then clear coated over. Shiniest screwed up paint I ever saw.

And, since I bought from a really reputable small town dealer (no complaints here) they weren't trained in aluminum repair therefore it ended up at a dealer that I despise for the repairs.

Couldn't ask for a better dealer...I haven't had to do a thing over this. They come get, let themselves in and leave me a replacement when they needed it.

It gets delivered back to me again tomorrow and hopefully it will be to my satisfaction.

I've been towing with my 15 f150 lariat sport, 3.73, max tow, 5.0. Trailers a Palomino Solarie 269bhdsk eclipse, about 8000 full. Pulls like a dream, wouldn't know it's on the back. Had to upgrade the tires from stock Hankooks to Michelin LTX A/T2s cause the Hankooks wouldn't swing it. About 1200# on the hitch. Also have Firestone RideRite airlift on it. I would never have a truck without them.

As an aside, I'm a farmer so I have scales, put this one on against my 2014 fx4 (it's an ecoboost) and the 15 was 2480kg, the 14 was 2850kg.

U will no doubt enjoy the new ride!!

I have the same Michelin LTX A/T2s. They are great towing tires and good in the snow as well. I would recommend them. I was running 65 PSI, upping to 70 PSI today. Just need a little less flex.
I have 50,000 km on my 2013, no repairs, about 10,000 km towing on the truck as well. Great performer and lots of power and it can stop just fine.

Towing a Flagstaff 26 RLWS with 2015 F150 V6 3.5 EcoBoost 3.31 rear axle. Tows great at 60-65 MPH no problems. Towed about 600 miles so far. Had it to 70-75 passing 18 wheelers no problem. Memorial weekend coming home had some heavy winds and ran between 57-60 MPH with some occasional sway when I hit wind gusts. I'm using a Reese Straight Pull WDH with the cam trunnion bars 1200 Lbs. MPG was 10.7 with AC on.

Ualski - if you make it a habit driving 70-75mph passing trucks, I want to make sure I'm on a different road than you. You are asking for it if you go that fast pulling a trailer.

What kind of tires came with the truck?

I am getting the max tow package, 4x4 and 18 inch wheels. i was really hoping they were decent as I don't want to spend another $1,000 on tires right out of the box
