Are this normal for equalizer pins?
I know the title is not very helpful but I was not sure what else to say...
Pics:
There is play in the pins but I was unsure if this was OK. The other side remained tight. It may not make a difference but I am still new with this hitch so I wanted to confirm. The pins are not bent, the mounts are fine. The pins just have some play.

Mine have no play until I relieve pressure to remove bars.

Ok, sorry... let me clarify. I do not have wobble when the bars are in place. The pins are locked in place then. My question was really is it ok that the pin moved from being tight against against frame. The wobble is only when the pins are in place without the bars in place.

Some play in the pins is normal when the bars are not attached or applying pressure (mine is the same at any rate).

Ok good. I thought it was fine but I was not sure since it is only three trips deep with me.

These look a little different from the equalizer I used to have. Mainly the hole for the retaining pin in the L pin was BELOW the L bracket. Just from what I can tell in pic it would seem possible for L pin to come off? Is there another hole that the retaining pin is going thru under the L bracket?

On my pins, yes, I have a bit of play initially when I put the bars on.
Now, I have a question for you, doc73......
Could you take a picture of the way your "L" brackets are attached? It appears they are attached with bolts and lock nuts. Mine slide into the bracket attached to the frame and then the "L" is secured by a single bolt.
Yeah, I know, the brackets need to be touched up! That's on the list for this weekend.

No it does not do anything but hook under the bracket. I guess it could come out but when the bar is in place it puts some pressure on the pin so I do not think it could come out. I guess I have the new style pins.

The one shown in these pictures is the latest design from Equalizer. I just got a set of those from the factory. My original ones are like you described: Two separate pieces, the L bracket and a pin that went through it, below the bar rest. The new ones are designed so that you can't lose the pin.
Equalizer also makes a plastic pad that goes on top of the bracket, below the WD bar. It would take up some of that space that we're seeing in the picture. They are called Equal-I-zer friction pads. You can find them on Amazon.com. Sorry, I can't seem to get to amazon right now, or I'd give you a link.

Those are the new style pins. There is NO hole for the pins you are talking about to go through.

After I posted the picture of mine, I went to Progressive's web site and saw the new set-up. I see now. I also need to go to Tractor Supply and get me a set of these.....
I'm tired of trying to put those little pins in the holes with gloves on.
Thanks for taking the pics.

doc,
I just got the friction pads from Equalizer, along with a set of the "new style" pins. I haven't tried to put them on yet, but I will in the next day or so. Just taking them out of the package and eyeballing them, it looks like they should work. I'll let you know.

Yeah, the whole Equal-i-zer rig is 6 years old now. But, with some TLC now and again, it still works like a charm.
