13 year old 7.3L

Bought my F250 4x2 Crew Cab 7.3L Turbo in May 2003.. The last
7.3 in Georgia I think. Glad I did. Lots of troubles with future diesels.
Have 120k and don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon. Sticker
was around $39k. Only problem is they are very popular with thieves.
Keep on camping.

There are many many 7.3s still on the road.

This is a good forum to talk about 7.3s.

I put a 6.0 trans cooler on mine. the 7.3 cooler is way to small.

My 2014 2500HD had 60k on it in 2 years. Never skipped a beat. We did upgrade to a 3500 dually but otherwise, that truck would have lasted a while. We just needed a bigger truck so I plan to keep this one a long time.

My buddy just score a 2003 7.3 Excursion. Crown jewel of big towing SUVs. Thing is sweet with all kinds of upgrades.

Silverado great truck. Too bad the DEF system (no gauge/ fill under the hood) sucks

Doc. That 7.3 was the best ever for their time. Ford should work on that same type of engine. 6.0 disaster one after that ?? the new 6.7 is a beast (so far)

The exact mileage reading to trade your truck is whatever the speedo reads WHEN your wife says YES!

Fyi.... the gm trucks do tell you when the def is low. 30% left and 999 mile range. 6200 miles on my gmc and have added def once!
Yeah this is sooooo much of a hastle every few months....not. Its amazing how easy it is with the included flex hose!
You never hear of gm guys "accidentally " putting def in their fuel tanks like ford and ram guys do.

I don't need an FYI I owned a 2011 2500HD and like I said before nice truck. The DEF warning came on at 727 miles and another time at 424 miles and never tells you how much you need just put it in until overflows. If a Ram or Ford owner can not distinguish the difference between a large green cap and a small blue one then they need to look at the Silverado HD or better yet a gasser.
