sounds like something you learned on a GM forum...
Honestly on my Ram I don't think you could put DEF in the Fuel tank.. Not without really trying... The way they do the dual flappers for the fuel fill with the cap-less design you would have to shove that little plastic hose 8" down the neck or it would just pour out on the ground under the truck.
No idea on a Ford.

I trade every 4 to 5 years. Really do not care where the mileage is at. Lower millage better trade. Longest I ever kept a truck was my 2001 chevy dully and traded with 25000 miles. Later RJD

I don't worry about miles either but trade more often than you do. The 2016 F250 diesel was purchased after last Christmas and close to 18,000 on it now.

Keeping mine till the body is gone that's to north east Ohio. 130k and still in great shape, body and all.
Your worried about def in diesel or diesel in def. People still put gas in diesel and diesel in gas. Mistakes happen, but stupidity does too

I have never traded one in. My 1970 f 250 4x4 with the detroit 6v53 went 400000. The body was getting rough so I ordered a new 250 6.9 extended cab in 1983.Junked the '70. the 6.9 was upgraded fo`r more power with a full Banks turbo setup in 1994 at 190000. I finally spun the mains in it at 300000 + in 1999,parted it out and ordered the 250 ex cab 4x4 7.3 in 1999. Last year when we bought the 315wp,it needed a power upgrade,it had 210000 on it then. I am very satisfied with the performance now and since it has no emmission crap on it,I will start replaceing sheet metal this fall and just keep it.

Plus you had to add all that extra stuff to get that old turd to run with the new emission trucks.

Blows my mind the lengths some people will go to in order to avoid the "emission crap"...
90% of what people or scared of is just BS whipped up to a furry on the internet. Granted the early emission trucks had some issues, but I will say it again the late model trucks are just flat out incredible.
I will promise there is no amount of "performance upgrades" to a 7.3L that will make it keep up with any of the new diesels (and be reliable).

That's why they make Chocolate and Vanilla and Chevy and Ford (and Dodge) Everyone doesn't like the same or have had bad experiences with one or the other. I myself really like my 7.3, I can actually work on it if needed, don't have payments, does an excellent job on pulling, AC is awesome ( that's a real plus for where I live) and did I mention I have no payments. On the other hand the new ones are really sharp and I have heard great things about them. So I am not downing them I'm just contempt with what I have.

What is not BS is that at some point all newer diesels will have to replace the DPF. And when the delete kit is much cheaper than a DPF replacement and you get rid of the regen cycles and get better mileage/performance... what do you think most folks will do?
My brother buys multiple new ford f350s per year for his farms and the first thing he does is put delete kits on them. Doesn't even care about the warranty concerns. I find that interesting.
Are the new diesel awesome trucks? Of course! No doubt they perform better than my older truck. But like everything there are good and bad aspects of both routes. Scared of emission crap? No... just trying to stay informed.
