Aux diesel tank

If anyone is contemplating buying an aux tank, I have a suggestion. RDS is apparently one of the best co's to make the tank. However, you can't order directly from them. BUT you can tell them what you need, they'll give you the proper PN. Then, using that number, call eg Northern Tool. I wish I had known this. It would have saved me a headache.

I gotta ask why? Can't travel through a full tank now, bigger tank is more weight harder to get moving and stopped, save $$ ahh just don't see it. A few cents over the mpg loss by having the extra wgt does not compute for me. Might not find fuel?? Really?? Where the heck you going you can't find fuel in 400 mi? Just had to open the can to read what happens next.

I think the MPG loss due to the extra weight is really a non-issue my total grow combined weight is over 24,000 pounds. I'm sure another 50 gallons at around 8 pounds per gallon isn't going to make a noticeable difference.

As for finding a station- it isn't 400 miles, but more like 100-150 miles as no one needs to fill a full tank. I got caught in north eastern Ohio with the challenge of finding diesel on our route and more specifically at a station that could easily handle our almost 60' combined length. It was that last 75 miles that I never would have guessed would be an issue (we were on a highway for most of it).

My 40gal. Aux diesel tank lets me get fuel when I want to not when I HAVE to.
I got caught once in a tight spot where I had to get fuel and it won't happen again.

are you talking about a replacement tank or one that goes into the bed of the truck? i would rather have the replacenet tank, but tractor supply, rural king and farm and home have some decent prices on there in bed aux tanks. titan tanks are just a bit spendy for me at the moment.

Our 5er is 39', plus 20' TV. Try getting THAT into your age rage "gas" station and back out. We burn diesel - some truck stops in IL and IN will NOT sell fuel unless you have a DOT no. When we're at our destination, I'll be able to park the 5er, then much more safely, go get fuel! The additional weight is a non issue.
