Average hitch height?

I will be picking up my new Salem fsx 260rt toy hauler here in the next week or so. I am going to order a blue ox WD hutch but not sure how much drop I will need for the hitch. I have a 2016 f250 that’s stock height except slightly bigger tires.

I am wondering if there is a close or average number height for a leveled out travel trailer? I have searched and some place I found about 17”. The dealership didn’t have any insight for me since it hasn’t been delivered to the lot yet.

That's a number you will have to measure for yourself. Park in on a flat surface and measure it. Then buy an adjustable drop ball to match. You will have to set it a little higher to make all things level when hooked up.

I understand that, I was just trying to be pro-active about getting a new WD hitch and not paying overiced from the dealer dealer. They have a couple different adjustable shank heights but just not sure how much I will need. Didn’t know if there was a “standard” or “average” coupler height

I asked the same question!

16 or 17 is the answer.

An adjustable heavy duty ball mount for $250-300 works.

We have a fiver and I just wanted a emergency hitch. I am buying a #10,000 inexpensive fixed one at 16”.
