B&W turnoverball ...... yeah

Hello Guys,
I bought my Silverado maybe two years ago, it had a goose neck ball in the box. I never really looked at it, it was just there. Well I sold my TT and started looking at 5th wheels a few weeks ago with that 5th hitches. Thats when I noticed I have a B&W turnoverball. I could of flip that ball lots of times but never knew I could so needing it out for the first time in two maybe three years of Wisconsin winters I had to get creative in removing it since it was pretty stuck. Here are a few pictures of my struggle but ultimate win.

So the point in sharing this to A: just show what I did because I had to show someone and B: warn those who have one to take it out every now and then

Wow, so now it works? Pin slides and all?

I've got the same GN, I use an Andersen Ultimate hitch with it to pull my 5er, thus far I've been really happy with it.

Yeah a bunch of lube, some big hammers, two port a powers, and a plasma torch later it is out and the not damage to the hitch. The pin slides good. I installed a new B&W companion slider last night and pulled home the new 5er tonight First pull I really like the hitch but its pretty heavy, and went in a little hard (tight) Ill have to see how it comes out.

You will love the B&W and love there staff even more IF there is any reason to contact them. Very good people there! A friend of mine bought a truck with a frozen B&W in it and picked the entire truck up with his track hoe trying to get it out. A little penetrating oil and a couple of jacks and a setup similar to what you made, and it was out in about an hour.

I pull mine twice a week and clean out the receiver from all the dirt and dust that does get in it. I have never had a problem as long as I keep taking two mins out of my day and clean it.

I would have heated up the ball with a torch and used a jack from the bottom. Nice fab work though
