Question back up camera

Is there a hitch ball cover for an equalizer hitch that can be put on the ball after unhooking the travel trailer so the back up camera in the truck does not beep when in reverse? I realize I can turn the sound off but I was hoping for a ball cover that was not viewable by the camera.

I'm betting that it's not the camera that's causing the beeping. On my F150, the beeping happens because I have proximity sensors on my bumper on either side of the centerline. Another set of sensors are outboard on the bumper, for a total of four sensors. THOSE are what's causing the beeping. The close in ones see the WDH as an object that's about to get bumped.

My f150 does the same thing when my receiver hitch is attached. Donít think there is anything you can do other than shut the backup off electronically when the trailer is disconnected.
Not terrible, just an inconvenience.

Odd. My Ram with rear sensors and camera does not beep with just the hitch on in reverse. Only when I get close to the trailer. Tailgate down though, will set it off.

Same with my F-150.

Same with my truck. I just disable them and no more noise.

I disable mine also. The problem is while disabled a tree found my bumper.
