Anyone had a hitch ball loosen up?

If it does it was probably not tight enough in the first place. But to answer your question no.

I check mine every spring before the first pull. Never had one come loose. Just waiting for this blizzard to leave and spring to arrive.

Just a thought the ball nut does have a lock washer ??? doesn't ???

Yep.. on our equal-i-zer hitch after the 2nd time we towed the old travel trailer... not sure if dealer tightened it enough at setup, or it loosened.

The "Premium Towing Balls" have a Huge shaft,Lock Washer,Huge Nut,and the shaft is Drilled for a Cotter Pin/Ring! Loctite can also be used! Youroo!!

It is hard to get them tight. Need much more than standard open end or ratchet.

Use neither one of these, take to a Truck Shop and pay them to use the proper Tool which is a Huge Torque Wrench set at the Proper Setting for the Thread Size of the Ball! Pay/Tip the mechanic well and Save yourself from buying a Very expensive Tool that will be used few times! Youroo!!

Most people do not own the proper torque wrench for this job. Need to find a hitch shop or truck service shop.
