I don't own a Coachmen so I looked on various web sites trying to find the answer for you, but no luck. Seems like that number would be a helpful thing for manufacturers to publish online!

I will say that 28.5 sounds unusually high.

I hope you get the information you need, and enjoy your new trailer!

You're right, surprisingly this information isn't really listed anywhere. I think it would be helpful for people to know this as they're sizing up their equipment needs.

Fortunately, after some responses here on the forum and finally getting a decent measurement from my in laws (after explaining how to pull out the tape portion out of a measuring tape) they gave me a reading of 19". Sounds about right. My receiver sits at 18" so - close enough. Thanks everyone.

Make sure you've got the correct size wrenches/sockets to adjust the WDH. If it's an Equalizer, you'll need 1-1/8" wrenches/sockets. Bolts need to be 350 lb-ft.

Can't comment on other WDH's.
