My Transfer Flow holds 50 gallons. It does not take up much bed space, and is a hair above the bed rails, but this is due to it being on a very thick rubber mat with the proper mounting cleats. It has the top that opens and gives me a tool chest.

My truck was bought used with an across the bed tool box that I sold to a co-worker for 80. Found this one on Craigslist for 300. Guy i got it from wanted to do a truck camper, so he took this out after showing me it worked.

I'm all for the aux tank but don't pretend to be saving money by buying stuff.
I saved thousands when I had my tank. Figure 100 gallon tank when you find a place that is .50 cent cheaper or more. I remember going to Montana once and I recall it was an easy $1 cheaper just due to location and tax station guy looked confused when I wanted 130 gallons worth at 130 am.

I originally got the tank because I was a general contractor so I got red fuel when it was cheaper then clear... in my state red fuel = sales tax. Clear = a per gallon road tax so yes.. red fuel at times was more ironically.
I did sell the tank mostly due to the fact that I don't drive the truck much anymore except for camping fyi not retired yet so my usage went way down but.. I do long for a bigger main tank when I go on my yearly camping trip.

Not saying everyone needs to go out and buy one, but over time it can cover the cost if your reasonable in initial cost and you do some planning in fuel purchases.

How deep is the tool storage?
Advertised 91 but usually from empty to full is 89 gallon.
The tool box portion is large enough to fit a craftsman folding tool kit, spare starter, ratchet straps and slot of misc stuff. It measures 26" x 57" x 5.5"

Under bedrails auxiliary tank

Here's a pic of my tank. I got this from Boyd Welding in Florida and it's a beauty. Tank fits right under the canister for my rolltop cover. Holds 47 gallons, so a combined total of 83 gallons now. Install was super easy and took all of 1 hr. Yes, it's gravity feed and I'll see how that goes to determine whether or not I want to upgrade to some type of pump system.

Here's a link to their website. Don't forget shipping costs. Florida to Dallas on truck freight was about $225.

Perfect example of why I wouldn’t save any money noticed that local gas station had been almost $.50 cheaper per gallon for a few days now than the one across street from it and one block down the road. Diesel appears cheaper than last time I was in town where I normally get diesel so I pull in the back fill up while filling up I see the diesel down the street 3:57 I am paying 3.02 happy man I go to pull out get past parked big rigs glance to see if safe to go it is I start pulling out take a second glance diesel across street dropped to 2:89 if I had went my normal route i would have seen the difference but was trying to avoid traffic just glad it was 25 gallons not 125

Use the GasBuddy app and find the cheap gas easily.

But you did well anyway as everyone should buy smaller amounts while the price is dropping and fill up when prices are rising. (if you care about such things)

If I’m at home I hardly ever put diesel in my auxiliary tank. Maybe just a little to keep the diesel sloshing around inside the tank
