Best electric tongue jack

So is it the big dog or the husky ? been researching and leaning toward the husky 4500 . but the big dog is coming up on the radar

My personal thoughts are most tongue jacks are in same realm of quality it would come down to amenities and ease of use when no battery power

I can't recall the brand, but there are some with a bubble level included.

a bubble level on the jack is not as important as the jack it's self , don't you think ? i husky comes witha 2 yr warranty and has great reviews the big dog has a 5 yr and decent reviews . does anyone have either of these that might have first hand experience

Is it Bigdog or Bulldog? I have a Bulldog, and it works, but always sounds like it's struggling. I got the 3500 and my trailer is 7000 lbs loaded.

Yea you're correct bull dog . i ended up ordering the husky 4500 lbs with the ball screw . bull dog i could not find over 4000 . the reviews on the husky were the best

Good move, I wouldn't buy another Bulldog after owning this one.

I used the Husky 4500. My tongue weight was in the 1200-1300 pound range. With that much tongue weight you’re going to have a substantial WD hitch, so remember when hooking up you’ll be lifting the hitch AND the truck. Husky wins with its extra 1,000 pounds of capacity.

I'm close to 1200 not quite . the andersen WHD works great for me . I've been manually cranking it . not to bad really but decided to treat myself to a present for the camper . the husky should work good for me . and yes have to hook up then raise truck and camper to set hitch .

I's sure you're correct . I have bubble levels mounted on my unit for leveling . that and an app on my phone that i would say is balls on accurate

We went with the Husky for the 'ball screw' technology and for the 'smart stop' feature. Ball screw seemed to make sense and would be less strain on the motor, and the smart stop feature would prevent jammed motors or burned out fuses, both of which have made their way into various jack discussions.

I think you'll be happy with your decision.

Ditto here as well. Most all the reviews on the Husky were good, ball screw and limit switches, and finding an "almost too good to be true" deal on Amazon sealed the deal for me. Now just waiting for warmer weather so I can get it installed.

Installed the new Husky brute 4500 today . in order to do a 90 degree mount so tail gates open you need to drill 3 new mounting holes . you can do a 45 and have 2 holes available but was not good with the clearance that way . So 3 new holes it was about 2 hrs total install included running all electrical . tested out the husky is quieter then most ,operation is very smooth and speed is ok better then some maybe worse then others . but the ones i have operated were noisier and slower iimo . happy with the install and choice of jack

Just curious, could you not just turn the jack 120 degrees, and still use the existing holes?

only 2 holes would be available that way and then it stuck out the back enough to interfere with the propane tanks . i ended up moving the tanks back an 1.25" as it was and could go no further . so at 90 it's drill new holes to mount . looks better that way , at 120 it would look way off not that it makes a difference in operation

LOL, thanks! I wasn't thinking about the propane tanks being too close. The spacing on the holes must not be at a uniform 120 degrees either.

Looks like I'll be doing the same thing here in a week or 2 hopefully!
