The internal gears failed on the factory jack on my TT after three years. I replaced it with a Husky 4500. It took about one hour going very slowly to replace. I supported the frame with jack stands on both sides. The new jack is far stronger than the original one and makes connecting my Equalizer WDH much easier.

B, I just bought and installed the Husky HB4500 electric tongue jack, $200 plus tax; free shipping from Amazon. I would think the American made Barker is the best, but had to go with the best bargain and Husky gets good reviews.

Husky has the same 4500 but with remote, if you don't mind shelling out more hard earned dollars.

Our camper is only 7 months old, still under warranty. The repair man said to bring it in when it gets worse , which it has and I DEFINITELY don't won't it going out while traveling. I have read many revues that that is exactly what Liggets do

Be careful using it! Our friends Lippert gave out when close to fully extended dropping the front of the TT. Fortunately no one was hurt and no damage to TT.

I vote for the Barker. My Barker motor failed after 6 years, sent it back to the factory they repaired/replaced it no charge. The replacement motor lasted another 8 years and was still working when I traded my trailer.

And this is a perfect case in point as to why RV manufacturers build things as cheaply as possible. If the bulk of people won't pay an extra $100 for an American made tongue jack that WORKS and is backed by GREAT customer service, then why would we pay thousands extra for a better built camper???? What it boils down to is that most people want the cheapest and best at the same time, and it rarely works like that. Rant over.

I wish I could figure out what mine is. I installed on my 1991 Coachman in 1991 afer shoulder surgery. It has also been on my 1995 Prowler, 1999 Wildwood, 2000 Sunline, 2006 Holiday Savoy and my 2010 Flagstaff 829FKSS. In all that time, and we do a lot of camping, I had to replace the fiber gears once.

I have an 8 year old Barker that I removed from my old 2005 Rockwood, opened up and inspected, and will be installing on my new to me 2013 Heartland North Trail. The much newer Trailer Star jack from the North Trail will go on the Rockwood to be sold with it. The Barker has a huge advantage in performance and quality. The only thing I don't like about it is the white plastic housing which has yellowed in the sun. I would get a black one next time.

Mine quit working after 3 months. My dealer found a problem in the wiring. Seems to be okay now but thanks for the suggestions as I will probably replace it at some point anyway. It seemed to be terribly slow.
