The treads on these general tires are:

FL 6/32
FR 9/32

RL 4/32
RR 7/32

I think the old rule of thumb was replace at 2/32... but I am about to start towing. I am on the fence about replacing tires right now because we have a lot of money going out with the 5th wheel purchase.

Would you guys replace at these levels?

I'm on my second set of Cooper Discoverer A/T3. I was so happy with the first trouble free set, I got them again!

265 is the oem tire size. I've heard costco giving people trouble if you are not putting on exactly the size tire the manufacturer uses. Any experiences with this?

Thanks to all the replies. Based on the feedback, I went with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. I stuck with LT275/70R18. That was on it before, even though the OEM is a 265 as discussed earlier.

The sticker on my door jamb says

FRT 60 PSI
RR 80 PSI
SPA 80 PSI

The tire shop inflated everything to 60 psi. Sounds like the rears should be at 80 psi, is that right? and I am assuming SPA is the spare? I didn't replace that, but I need to... it looks pretty old.

With the truck empty 60 to 65 is fine for the rears . once you load the truck then up the tires psi . Benn running the michelin denfender on my truck since last fall . best riding tire i ever had on my truck and looks to be wearing very well

Thanks, good news. So technically I should bump them up to 80 psi before towing around the 5th wheel? How many people do this? Add/release air when towing?

On my first set and so far so good. I would recommend and buy again.

The Michelin’s are great too. I had them in my previous truck.

That said, I got the Cooper’s for half the price of the Michelin’s with the same warranty. I can’t say that the ride is any worse. It’s a heavy duty truck. Not much you can do And for the savings I would do it again.

I run 65 front and 62 rear when empty. I'd go to 60 on the rears empty but my TPMS flags at less than 62.

Towing I bump the rears to 75.

I’m lazy I normally run 60psi in the front tires and 80psi in the rear. 80psi in the spare. The Michelin tires I just installed run great, tomorrow morning I’m getting a new spare

Since I don't use my truck as a daily driver/commute, I just leave the rears at max. towing PSI recommended on the door sticker. If you use it everyday then I would reduce the rears to give a slightly smoother ride & better tire wear (less wear in the middle of the tire).

Run 80 in rear all the time, never let air out when dry.

That's what i do . 65 to 68 when not towing and 80 when towing . everyone will have their own idea on how it should be . this is where common sense comes into play . no one is right for everyone and the psi set points can be argued till hell freeze over and still no one wins
