They are out there, but the excursion came as a dually Diesel on the 350 chassis. Rare, but out there.

One of the options on the old Excursions came on the 350 chassis as a dually with the 410 gears. Tow Monster! Friend had one, HATED to park it at any store! His duals were wider than most white lines in the spaces! Rare, but they are out there. Turning radius of a barge! Another option, get the cut-away 450 or 550 short bus chassis conversions. Those can be had used with low mileage quite reasonably, and can be set up to tow. May have to get a frame shop involved, but some come already equipped to tow.

This should work. It has negative hitch weight, lifts the rear of the TV a little (lot?) so you have EXTRA capacity for people and gear.

You are going to want at least a 10% buffer on your GVWR. I like a little more. Remember to calculate all people and luggage in addition to assuming the fluid tanks will be partial if not completely full. (just in case)
We had a old Dodge van, 2 captains chairs and 2 bench seats with plenty of room to lie down in the back.
I know some people use them for carpooling to offset the costs.

Best Vehicle for Towing

How about the Ford Excursion with the diesel option? It seats 8 and may have the towing capacity you need. Good luck!

Excursion and 2500 Suburban have the exact same GVWR the difference is the Suburban itself weighs at least 1000 pounds less giving at least 1000 pounds more payload. Sort of like why the new Ford pickups are aluminum, it frees up otherwise limited payload. 8.1 Suburban with 4.10 gearing is the only vehicle ever made that will do exactly what the OP asked.

The diesel Excursion on the 350 chassis is the best solution. Not only can it seat 8 people but with that Power Stroke diesel it will run circles around that Cheby Suburban!

Buy a used 1 ton crew cab gasser. Use it only when towing. Take the money you save from the used vehicle, and buy a daily driver. When you go camping, load up the truck, and put the extra people in the daily driver.
