Bike carrier dual hitch???

Has anyone used a dual hitch with a bike carrier hitch above the main receiver? I love the idea of having the bikes between the camper and the truck so I can see them...but am concerned about the towing capacity of the receiver as they say they are only rated for 4000lbs. Just curious if many folks actually use this with campers. I am approx. 4500lbs dry so am not willing to get one unless there are higher rated ones available.

Assuming that you are using a WDH with a 4500 lb. trailer, this might work if you have 3" of the hitch shank showing: Swagmanbikeracks.com :: RV/Towing :: Swagman Original 3 Bike 64600 Towing **$126.00**

Great suggestion...unfortunately I have already purchased a Thule four bike rack which has the male end to be used in the receiver.
The type of dual hitch I found is: Amazon.com: Dual Hitch Extension Cap:4000Lbs: Home Improvement
But not sure how reliable or strong it is.

I would be afraid to use that with a WDH.

i don't think you can use that with a WDH. check the specs on it because i had considered one but did a lot of reading and i think they aren't supposed to be used with a WDH.
