Blue Ox Sway Pro or Reese Dual Cam

I currently have a knock off version of the Reese hitch that requires the install and removal of sway control bars. I have to remove the sway control bars before backing up and I typically install the sway bars before jumping on the freeway.

So as you can tell this is getting real old very quickly and would like to go with a set up that I can hitch and go. I would like the ability to back up without taking bars off.

So the question is, Do I go with a blue ox sway pro set up or a Reese dual cam set up?

I want the hitch to last a very long time, be easy to set up and be quiet.

Let me know what I should get and why?

Check ProPride 3P, I have been using it since May 2011 and for me best hitch on the market: no sway and trailer always under control: been through some downpour with winds gusting to 90km and no white knukles, same whenn meeting transport trucks...

Either the Reese Dual Cam, Equalizer 4 pt., or Blue Ox with integrated sway control should do you a fine job. But don't expect any of them to be quiet.

Actually the Blue Ox makes almost no noise at all. We have almost 12,000km with ours and love it. Had some major cross winds last trip to South Dakota and it was still a joy to drive. That with a 34 1/2 ft TT.

I own the Blue Ox, and have had no issues with it. I would recommend it to anyone.

Looking at the blue ox im not sure what model to go with. They offer 1 set up for 750lbs and another for 1000lbs hitch weight.

My current bars are for 800lbs.

Ebay pricing is around $600 with shipping. Are there better deals?

Get the 1k bars. We paid about that when we got ours but I never really shopped around as it was a last minute thing to get the Ox. (long story)

go for the BXW1000 and check around. I used Amazon and paid $615 shipped. It was $579 shipped day before but I drug my feet. First trip with it tomorrow ,fingers crossed its better than my old generic friction bar set up.

Was checking out the Reese dual cam sway control set up and om a little torn now between the both. Best price I got on blue ox swaypro 1000k bars is $649. Add another $50 and the dealer will install. I checked the dual cam set up and im looking at $600 that includes the trunnion style bars and a new 13" shank. Its a wholesaler online so I can't it set up by a dealer. Bars are for 800.

Those that have the blue ox set up
, how difficult is it to hitch to trailer? In terms of swaypro, is it a night and day difference to my friction style sway bars?

Looking to hook up 1x and be able to back up without any issues but have very limited sway control

Any info you can provide would be helpful.
