bought a used TT with Pro-Pride hitch

We recently bought a used TT and it came with a Pro- Pride hitch assembly. Geez those are $$$ ! It seemed to pull our 2005 Fleetwood Prowler 250 RKS down the road ok. But... Is this over kill for that trailer ? I am towing with a 2015 Ford Expedition XL Model with towing PKG..410 rear end Thanks for any input ..

If it came with the TT, be happy you didn't have to buy one. At 26', I wouldn't really call it "overkill" and it may make for very pleasant traveling down the road.

since it's not a FR product and it's 15 years old, how about providing some specs on the TT.
like loaded tongue weight and GVWR.

Having a PP on that trailer might be overkill to some. To me it is like towing a pop up with a 3/4 ton, but in both cases having too much is a good thing. Enjoy the awesome towing and enjoy your TT!!

Hell, I couldn't even find anything on line about specs outside of it's about 26' long. It's 15 year old, what do you expect.

If the hitch is set up correctly according to the TV, it can only help. On the other hand, if set up incorrectly it can be your worst nightmare.

Are you bragging or complaining? Why would you complain about towing with the best hitch on the market?

BTW, Propride is a Michigan company. Based near Flint. If you have any issues with the hitch, give Sean, the owner a call, he WILL reply, often within minutes. If you need service on the hitch he has been know to completely rebuild them.
I WISH my trailer had come with a PP. I think it is at the top of the heap iisafe towing experiences.
If you have any issues hitching or unhitching, feel free to send me a note. There is definitely a learning curve on using the hitch, but once you figure it out, you should be able to hitch and un-hitch faster than with any other hitch.
Also, the "Unoffical ProPride Hitch" thread on the Airstream forum has a wealth of information on the hitch.

There's also a Pro Pride owner group on Facebook that Sean is on. Any questions or problems someone there will help you out.
