Break away brake cable for TT. Don't know why I keep breaking the cable, but after the last time, glad I have an extra! Could I be making to tight of turns or what?

What is the length of the cables you have been using? Mine is about 6ft and have not had any issues. I just bought one of the FastWay 6ft coiled cables.
Have you tried one of those?

No I haven't. Didn't know there was such an animal. Think mine is 3ft. Thanks, will look for the 6ft coil cable.what bothers me is if it snapped, why didn't the bricks activate???
I probably need to have that checked out too!

Fastway recommends the 4' for bumper pull TT and the 6' for 5th wheels.
I put the 4' on my unit and have had no issues so far.

Is your cable breaking because it is rubbing on something and becoming frayed? or is it breaking from stress? If it is stress then you may have an issue with your break controller. When a cable is pulled it should become pull out the activator(not sure of proper name). When it is pulled out it locks the break.
Breaking the cable will not activate the controller. On my trailer the controller is hidden under and on the inside of the "A" frame.
My cable became tangled once last year and pulled out of the controller. It quickly locked up the breaks.
I didn't know about the 4ft versus 6ft recommendation. That is good information. I will have to look at getting the shorter one.

If you're breakaway cable is too short, it could go taught when in a turn. And with it pulling at an angle, it might snap without pulling the pin from the breakaway unit.

First, be sure the pin is not locked up inside the housing. You should be able to yank it out by hand with a good stout tug.
Next, be sure you have some slack (similar to the slack in your safety chains, to allow for turns.
