Brake controller/wiring issues

Hi, I have a 2016 Kia Sorento and a 2018 Shamrock 183. The 7 pin connector on the Kia was damaged and wiring got wet from an accident over the winter. After replacing the 7pin connector on the Kia, I tested it with the camper. I had the power and ground reversed and it fried the istop brake controller. I replaced the brake controller and corrected the wiring. Now when I plug in the camper with the battery disconnect engaged, the brake controller will show 13 for the output which is maximum I am assuming. It will not let me adjust it with the wheel on the controller. If I turn the battery on the camper on, it displays "SH" or short. I am at wits end trying to figure out what the issue can be. I don't know a lot about brake controllers or trailer wiring so I am feeling a little defeated here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
