Breakaway Kit Replacement - DIY?

2006 Rockwood Roo 19 - Found the pin snapped off so need to replace the kit. Should a tech replace kit or can I do myself? Easy or Difficult?

Thanks. Will start by trying to replace pin only instead of whole assembly. Sounds fairly easy.

like pushing a plug into a speaker jack. only thing is if the plug broke off in there, may take some effort to get it out.

i'm trying to figure how that can break. they are solid metal and resemble a 1/4 Japanese phono plug. just pushes in and keeps the contacts separated on the electrical. when out, power is applied to the brakes.
to answer ur question, i'd do it myself.

Should be DIY. Even if it is a full replacement, it should be 1 bolt and 2 butt-connectors.

Either way, I recommend the Fastway ZIP breakaway kits. I replaced my straight cable with this, and it's great. If you need to replace the hold unit, definitely get the FAstway. Not sure if you can get the coiled cable with a new plug.
