In my case, it just refused to go into 4WD. No dash lights, no noise, no nothin'. They didn't even question it at the dealer as this is apparently a known problem.

That is what happened when the 4WD module (servo unit) went out on mine.

Did you make sure to get the ol' heated tailgate option so your hands won't get cold when you have to push it in the winter?

The heated tailgate option quite working last year, but I have tow hooks on the front of the truck and keep an old horse harness handy for such instances.
