OK....I give up. What's wrong? I always see Ford pick-ups on the back of tow trucks, what is different about your photo !?!

Oh, stab me in the heart while I am down !!!

Something happened to the front axle while it was sitting in the garage.......the axle was making a lot of noise when speed got over about 15 mph. I think it might be 4WD related. Will find out the news tomorrow.

Even though my truck only has 23,000 miles on it, the bumper to bumper warranty is out time wise....I bought it in November 2006. But, at that time, Ford offered a free Extended Service Plan on the drivetrain, so I should be OK there.

When they first announced the return of the TV show "Night Rider" but using a Ford Mustang instead of the original Trans Am I said: So, "Kit" the car will be pulled around for the whole show by a tow truck?

Sorry, just had to get my "Ford Jab" in there.

Sorry to hear of the problems. Hopefully it is nothing more serious than an axle or pinion bearing.

Shhh, don't tell anyone but I put a Ford axle under the rear of my Jeep....

That photo brings back bad memories, but the tow truck had a TT attached. 50 miles out of Lexington VA, the engine comes on and say's "engine speed reduced", turns out the fuel filter was pluged. $185.00 and four hours latter I'm back onthe road.

That sounds like something my kid would say... No really dad, it was just sitting there in the garage and the front axle just broke.

Man there are some cold people here when it comes to your Ford Chap. I guess that is why it is Fix Or Repair Daily.

Just kidding. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Eh, don't let 'em get you down Chap! I'm on your side. I got 125,000 miles out of my other F-250 and never was in the shop for anything. Well, let me qualify that by saying I did put a different rear-end in it (went from 3.73 to 4.30). Oh, and I did change the front brakes...not because they were bad, but they were squealing and they annoyed me. And that was the front brakes only...the rear was the original when I sold it. And I am hoping for as good a record with the new one.

Anyway, sure hope it's nothing too bad and the warranty takes care of it.

That's all you got was 125,000 miles, I had a Chevy Astro Van that had 305,000 miles on it and still running strong. It had the original 4.3 engine, transmission and rear in it, not only was it driven to work Evey day but it was used to run service calls while on base. The only reason it is gone is because the electrical system was failing, but that's Chevy for ya, "LIKE A ROCK" , "BASEBALL, HOT DOGS, APPLE PIE and CHEVROLET"

I loved my Astro. Had a '93 with the dutch door option. 225K+ when we traded it in on my new '02 Trailblazer. Only major parts replaced were 2 alternators and a water pump. Was getting close to needing a new starter when we decided we wanted a new vehicle. The 4.3 was an awesome engine. The 4.2 straight 6 in the Trailblazer is pretty good too. Got 125K on that right now.

But anyhow, not to completely Hijack this thread, I hope you get your truck taken care of soon.

I knew I was going to take some slack over the photo, but I can take it. We gotta have a little fun on the forum.

The F150 that I bought new in 1979 and sold when I got the current truck never had to be towed. Other than a dead battery every 1/2 dozen years or so, it never failed me. Even a broken clutch linkage didn't prevent me from driving it home, and then to a shop.......that old 4 speed "granny" transmission shifted pretty good without a clutch.

I figured I would give Ford another chance to prove themselves by buying this truck. Compared to my old F150, this truck has tons more power that the old 6 banger, and gets much better gas mileage. Add that to stuff that my old truck didn't have, like 4x4, AC, automatic, power steering, power windows, an extra seat, and towing package, this truck is more comfortable to drive and will do so much more.

Now, if I can only keep it off a wrecker.

[QUOTE=rockwood06;43863]That's all you got was 125,000 miles,QUOTE]

Well, that's all I got when I sold it. I sold it to a guy down the street who is using it to pull his 28' TT. I have no doubt he'll get another 125,000 before it needs anything done!

And while I love my Fords, I also love the GM's I had. I had a 1988 Cutlass that we only got rid of because it was totaled. That was in 2004. Olds mini-van we had for over 10 years. My other current vehicle is a 2007 TrailBlazer. 45,000 miles so far with no issues. What it boils down to is, take care of your vehicle and it will take care of you. Everyone gets the occassional lemon...it's a fact of life.

I'm baffled about how do you do speeds over 15 mph IN YOUR GARAGE!!! You must have an absolutely HUGE garage!!!

Well, one thing I will say to give credit where credit is due. While we like to kid about various brands, remember, Ford did not need or get a government bail out and are profitable. They must be doing something right.
