I have always ran the brand that TSC carries. I think it's called TerraCair. It's cheap and never given me any trouble. I think all DEF is pretty much the same. The Blue DEF is probably made by the same plant that manufactures the others.

It's a bummer, I start camping Tuesday and truck has to be in shop Monday. I put DEF in truck today and go haul the trash off and I get a warning about something wrong with a sensor. I checked the code, P20B9. I'm glad it's under warranty. Just was at shop about two weeks ago for a glow plug, 140 miles round trip.

There's two separate heaters.
The lines from the tank to exhaust are heated.
Also, heater in the tank.

It's really not the bad to change.
The tank is big and a pain to handle, but it's not something they haven't done before!

I just hate how stupid the tank looks.. And how low it sits.

I guess for here, 30 or so, no tank heater would be bad.. Down south survivable?

I don't know the temp in nc. ( not sure even where it is? South east?)

But it monitors the heater circuit all the time.

Is this a common issue for all def trucks or should I expect this on my Chevy?

I have never had anything to do with a Chevy.
My Mercedes had a ton of def issues.
My 14,2500 had def issues.
My 15 3500 has not had anything yet, but I only have 9km on it.

I saw quite a few issues at Ford, with the def. By the end, they were getting better.
It's more of an issue up here, where it goes from -40 to +40.
