Calling All Toyota Tacoma Owners

Hi Guys!
Trying to find out what the easier more affordable install is.
Air Bags or Springs?

Thanks in advance.

I just added air bags to my ram, didn't want the stiffer ride with heavier springs, would do the same with the wifes Tacoma.

I did not want to go the airbag route so I went with SUMO springs on my 2011 Tacoma. I also upgraded the stock shocks to Bilstein 5100's all around. Made all the difference in the world! Both in ride and towing quality.

air bags are adjustable...
soft when you don't need them gives you your best ride

Yo Tapex!

Looks nice and level like your not hauling!

I got my new bars today 600-800 Husky Centerline.

Husky assures me I will be just as level as anyone else hauling a 25 footer!
Just have to do some measuring and adjustments on the hitch and saddles.

I'd put some sort of helper on your springs. Tacoma has had some years with springs that break. I like my roadmasters, once installed, they are done, and they offer more benefits like tractiin and sway for your truck when not towing.

Just don't hit any bumps in that dodge if you do, you'll end up with the death wobble.

Rhody, I see you have success with your Tacoma + rig. I just picked up my 22' Salem Cruise Lite and had a Husky WDH installed. Took both to the CAT scales and after WDH engaged, front axle on the Tacoma is same with WDH load as it is without a trailer on it. It still seems like it is "walking" some up front. It is a 2012 Tacoma V6 with after market trans cooler, so power wise I think I am fine. I am used to pulling the popup but this towing has me uneasy. Anything further you would recommend I check?

Hi OldNavy
I went to the scales last week my rig was at 5400... not bad seeing dry weight is 4970.
My 2012 rated for 6500.
Main thing I found is make sure you have the correct size bars for your tonge weight.
I was sold the wrong size bars from the dealer. Now that I have the correct bars 600-800
Make sure your Rig is level and has about no more than 1/2" difference between rear fender height an front.
Try going up on tire pressure on Tacoma I have Firestone Destination AT's when I haul I goto 46 front an rear. You can always call Husky Centerline Support they are amazingly helpful, explain to them what your feeling they will check to make sure your set correctly.
I just got back from the Berkshires had a great 3 1/2 hour haul in pouring rain an felt very safe an stable 60Mph.
Could be new rig jitters??[emoji12]
Let me know how you make out.
