I'm not sure that my short bed truck will even cut sharp enough to get into the cab if I drive in a circle. It might IDK but it won't in a 90* turn onto another street.
What would you have done if you didn't have the slider? Cut it until you hit the cab? What would a semi with a 53' trailer in that condition have to do? Planning is the key. Not just planning the trip or where you are going to stop to eat but planning at the last minute for turns or what to do if someone cuts you off or what to do if you come up to a low clearance that you didn't know about.
More and more these days people try to take the easy way out and then when something comes up they don't know what to do. Some time or another something is going to come up, you just have to be prepared.
