True....and I understand that many feel the need to defend the TV they've already invested in regardless if it's the best choice or not. I might add too that the recommendation is a 20% allowance on towing capacity....so just barely being within the limits is imo not the best choice.

May not be the best choice for you but I'm fine being fine right up to the limit. Nothing to do with money or defending the TV I have either as I buy new trucks all the time and could easily buy a DRW if I wanted to. Just don't need it... but that's me. YMMV...

We purchased a 2014-29RE Silverback and then sat down with our GM salesperson to discuss the truck that we needed to tow same. (engine, options, color etc)..As it turned out we purchased a 2014 Silverado 2500HD, short box with a 6.0 litre gas engine with a trailer towing package included......No problems as yet....J

I'll bet I have more senior moments than you. Just ask my DW. Pretty soon this forum will be all Abbrevs.

I have owned a Ford 7.3 3/4 ton and now have a Dodge Ram mega cab 5.9 one ton. They both pull great but I prefer the one ton and the room the mega cab has. The cummins will pull my 39' Sandpiper faster than I want to go. It boils down to preference in vehicles I think.
