I have a Trailer Aid and doesn't work on my 5er. I have the Lippert 4000 suspension which has 4" of travel up and down so just not high enough. I haven't tried stacking wood or level blocks under but it would probably have to go up another 4 inches to work.

They are approximately 14" between axles, vice 3 to 5". Some newer units are seeing this type of set up.

I'm not sure of the actual distance in inches. But the two Forest River trailers I had, one had axles that were close together, the other the spread axle design were further apart. I could lift one tire off the ground using my level ramp on the regular axle. On the spread axle the other wheel is still touching the ground.

Changing tire

I have had flats and blowouts, but haven't changed a tire in 25 years, maybe more. I call AAA, they change it. Worth the wait.
Especially when it is the highway side.

I bought GS Roadside Assistance and let them carry the equipment and change my tire.

Good side of getting old you can retire and enjoy life - The down side of retiring those heavy truck tires are to heavy for you to change. I also subscribe to roadside service since my back operation last year.

I got from my car insurance agent and when I asked it would cover my 5er while towing.

I have a trailer aid and it worked fine for my old fiver with 15" tires, but I'm not sure if it would work with the 29RE with 16" tires. I'll keep it because I have a tandem axle utility trailer for hauling the Kubota.
I just rotated the tires on the camper this morning and used the levelup system in manual mode. What's really neat is that both wheels on one side can be lifted at one time. Worked great, and didn't take but 20 minutes to do both sides and I checked the mail somewhere in there...lol The impact wrench helped too.

One of the things they don't tell you is that a regular socket will not fit around the lug nuts because of the lack of clearance between the lug nut and the recessed opening in the wheel. I found a thinwall deep socket that works okay, but forget using a four way, plus the lug nuts are 19 mm, which, of course is a different size than the truck.
