charging tow vehicle

When my Windjammer 3401 is plugged into my F150 and the trailer is plugged into shore power will the trailer supply charging voltage to the truck? The reason for my question... if I have a dc cooler plugged into the truck overnight, will the trailer connection keep the truck battery from going dead?

what year is your f150? for many years ford uses a relay for battery charge lead. it will only be connected when the key is on. so in other words.. no.

Most of the current trucks are set up with a constant 12v straight off the battery to the RV plug. If you use a volt meter and measure the + and - pin while the truck is off and you have 12v then yes it will charge as yours is connected straight to the battery. I haven't ever personally seen any use a relay to switch the lead on and off but I suppose it is possible. In which case there wouldn't be 12v when the truck is off and the truck wouldn't charge...

There was a recent discussion on here about this very thing on Ford trucks and they have used relays in Fords since at least the late 90's. My 11 F250 has one as well.

This is very possible... If this is the case though and you are looking to have a constant 12v to the rear it would be simple enough to by pass the relay... I will look into and see if I can find anything...
