thanks for everyone's valuable inputs!
I have a short trip coming up that's I'll do without WDH to see how it feels.
if I can, I will move some weight to the dinette storage to keep the weight off the tongue.
It towed quite well dry which was suppose to be 400lbs.
Ultimately, I might still go with a WDH. Perhaps Andersen for its simplicity and lightweight.

The Andersen is simple and will work for that light weight, but its about the same price as an Equal-i-zer brand 4pt WDH. The Husky that DocGTO linked too is significantly less expensive but I'd seriously look at it. They make good quality products.

This Reese WDH is on sale at etrailer.com right now.

You must have bought the Acura because you want a quality vehicle. Don't cheap out on your towing setup!

BTW, the Honda website says your MDX is rated for "3500 lbs with 350-lb Tongue Weight" but that "Towing capacity can be increased to 5000 lbs for MDX SH-AWD with dealer installed accessory". I presume that accessory is a WDH. Do you have the SH-AWH model? If not, did the Honda dealer say your model can also be upgraded to handle towing 5,000 lbs.?

Thanks itat, I'll take a look at the reese setup
I'm consider andersen mainly due to it being light weight as I am near my maximum tongue weight for the vehicle. Cost is not a deciding factor as long as it is within reasonable range.
The "dealer installed accessory" is referring to a transmission cooler, which is part of the 500/5000 tow package I have installed on a SH-AWD model

As thebrakeman mentioned, which aligns with my experience so far, the car's drivetrain and brakes handle the weight quite well. I can even race off the line with some old minivans. Main concern is the tongue weight which puts stress on a car frame not designed to tow and its effects on vehicle stability.
