Diesel EPA standards jump causing the price diesel to cost more than gas, if you remember right, it was cheaper for years. Now is 2017 gas has to have the same standards as diesel has had for years, we see what happens.

Why would Ford/Chevy extend the oil changes if it causes problems? Anyway, for the next 100,000 miles I have the stamp in my book for doing oil changes according to the DIC my warranty is covered. I will trade before it gets to 100,000 miles anyway - heck the new 2017 Fords have caught my eye.

Last year when towed about 700 miles with a friend in gas and us in diesel at each fill up I put 5 to 8 gals less fuel in mine them him. He was towing a lot lighter then I was....
All I can say is that the Def is to be added at the oil change
so you may be by passing what is recommended. So your friend took more fuel but you leave out the info on the vehicle. Could have been a V-6 for all we know. Later RJD

DEF is put in as required not just at oil changes, if you tow a lot you maybe towing really really slow just prior to the oil change ...

His truck is 2013 Chevy 2500HD 6.2 Gas and white if you think that might make a difference. He was getting around 9 and I was getting around 12 miles per gallon Yep he used 5 to 8 gals more between fill ups than I did...

You right it is 6.0, because it was 2500HD bought at the same time I bought my 2013 Chevy 2500HD diesel. I had the 6.2 in my 2012 Chevy 1500 that I traded in for the 2013 diesel which I traded in for F350 diesel and looking hard at the 2017/18 F350.

My Duramax is 10 qts. My last gasser was 7 qts. Not much difference there. If it's below freezing, I plug it in. No waiting around then. Plus, I can plug my truck in at work too.

I'll second that, my 2014 f350 doesn't leave town all week with wife driving it, it's been deleted cause she hated driving around for no reason, but it don't seem to mind at all
