Chevy 2500HD hitch question
We currently have a EVO 2460 pulled with a 2012 1500 utilizing sway brace and weight distrbution hitch. We are moving up to a 2500HD diesel and according to the Chevy trailing guide it states that I no longer need either sway control or wd hitch. I am still a little new to this towing but does this sound okay or should I have the equipment set up for the 2500. The truck has integrated brake and sway control according to specs.

I would still use both. Even though your new truck is more heavy duty and has a stiffer suspension you can still get trailer sway.

With a dry hitch weight of 750 lbs your loaded tongue weight could easily be 1000 lbs.
That could lift or unload the front end of the truck a bit. Use the WDH to put some of that weight back onto the front tires.
I went from an F150 to an F350 and I will use my WDH.

X 2 We went from a Silverado 1500 to a 2500 HD but kept the WD hitch and I'm glad we did, just for the peace of mind and absolutely no sway.

I would still use it, but maybe won't need to tension it as much as before.

when we pulled a TT 750 on the ball I always used the WD hitch and sway bar, with my HD

I would go to your owners manual and get the number for technical assistance. The new truck does have sway control and a brake propotioning valve that could be confused with a wdh. I have a 2500hd long bed and 750 # won't change the attitude of the truck much at all. It tends to squat more than other trucks I've had.

Keep the WDH setup...it'll help take the smallest wiggle out while traveling highways.

Thanks for everyone's input, I was leaning toward hooking up the sway control and the WD on the new truck as well before getting these answers and these just confirmed me doing it. Once again thanks.

From what I understand about the integrated sway control; just like when the stabilitrac kicks in, there has already been an issue. When the wheels break loose, the brakes are applied and RPM's are limited to compensate. But the instability has already presented itself. Same with the sway control, once a significant sway is sensed, then it will compensate.
I'd go WD and sway control and hope both prevent ever needing the integrated sway control.
