This is not an issue of message stating trailer disconnected, or check trailer wiring, those are usually due to a trailer brake wiring issue.
It is hoped a solution will be available soon.
I beg to differ. OP said:

"I got stuck on my way back from the Grand Canyon with ABS, Stabilitrak lights and a trailer brake failure warning. Took it in for warranty repair six times but have the same problem on every trip. GM refused to repurchase the truck they can't fix. GM customer service is no help."

The trailer brake failure warning is what is pointing most of us to thinking there's an intermittent problem with his trailer wiring; potentially something feeding battery current back into his brake controller.

When there is an abs code on gm vehicles, it disables the trailer brake system on them as well. I dont know why, but ive had to clear both systems codes after replacing damaged hubs and abs sensors.

Bridgekev, Just a thought. Since you don't have another TT to pull, I would try to disconnect the trailer brake wire from the trailer plug and pull you trailer again. By doing this you would still have all the TT lights still working. Just something else you could eliminate as the cause on you own.

P.S. Sure hope you can get this solved, as I too own a Daramax.

I made an appointment at a Forest river dealer to look over all the wiring. They might see something the Chevy dealer didn't. The trailer brakes don't always go out when the abs trips, but more often than not I get both warnings. Brake light comes on when trailer brakes stop working.

Sounds good. We can Maybe eliminate something here. I hope we get you square soon. To be fair it took over a month to find the faulty sensor causing my AC not to work because it was an item that generally doesn't fail. Patience and hopefully between gm, trailer dealership, and these forums we can get you fixed up sooner than later.

Another thread with a similar issue that concluded already here (Sorry if this was already brought up, I looked but did not see it.) Reading that thread it may make sense to have someone watch the dash while you go under and wiggle all the brake wires wherever they go through any metal brackets or into the trailer frame. Might be a good place to look for an intermittent short.

There are a variety of messages you nay receive. Trailer disconnected or check trailer wiring messages probably are most common, and usually are due to a poor connection in the trailer brake wiring.

Just to be clear, per Tacky, who is a GM service person, said this has nothing to do with the "Check Trailer Wiring" issue. That's bad enough, but apparently the issue from the OP is worse. I'm not trying to shut down the conversation, just trying to keep on track.

I have the Check Trailer Wiring issue and asked Tacky if it was the same. He said it is not.

Update

For those facing the same issue and following the thread, I took the trailer to a Forest River dealer to have the wiring inspected. They didn't find any problems. They started at the connector and worked their way back, including the trailer brake wiring. The labor wasn't covered by the warranty because they didn't find any problems.
