I’m interested in hearing from other Colorado owners. I have a 2015 with towing package and a 2018 2109s. I made a trip to Garner State Park in Texas today and got 9-10 mpg. Ugh! The park is less than 300 miles from my house. I’m likely to spend $200 on gas by the time I get home Sunday. Is there anything I can do to improve the mileage?

Can’t comment on the V6, but my diesel Canyon is quite nice to tow our 21SS with and I averaged just over 13MPG during a 5,000+ mile road trip last summer which included going over a number of 11,000ft passes in Colorado and MT/WY.

Your fuel economy sounds about right for a gas truck, but you didn’t say how fast you were towing. The difference between towing at 62-65MPH and 70MPH can be quite big in terms of fuel economy.

I'll second DieselDrax reducing speed (drag) is the single biggest thing you can do to elevate the fuel consumption of your truck especially while towing.

Also know that the diesel Canyon can average 14.0 mpg towing a TT as mentioned holding to 62-65 mph.

Have the Gas Canyon. I pull a 6 x 12 enclosed with a trike motorcycle. 13 mpg hyway. Lock it in 5th gear.

I have an old school mid-size PU and me thinks the smaller V6 engine works harder when pulling. More throttle+more RPM=more gas.
Experiment with various speeds, 60 mph vs 70 makes a big difference when aerodynamics starts to play with fuel consumption.
I have learned a small truck does not equal better fuel economy.
