combined weight
So vehicle GVWR is 6000lbs. with tow rating of 3600lbs. This means that both vehicles on scales can weigh 9600lbs. max right?

You'll have to find the manufacturer GCWR. You're limited by the max vehicle weight, max towing weight or max combined weight, whichever is highest.

Is 9600lbs your tow vehicle's GCWR? (Not GVWR)

Umm, I think you are limited by whichever is LOWEST. Also in the list is cargo carrying capacity (GVWR-actual weight). Your tongue weight is part of the cargo limit and will generally be the lowest of the limits.

Duuuuh....good catch. It is lowest. Once you reach any one of the three limits the other two are no longer a factor.

No, that is not correct. The gross combined weight rating is the base curb weight of the truck plus the tow rating and that includes a 150 lb. driver. In other words if you need to subtract the vehicle's maximum payload (sticker number) from your 9600 number in your example above.

Probably, the best thing to do is look up the towing guide for your vehicle. Should be easily found thru a web search.

I've found that the tow vehicles Payload and Carry Capcity may not be accurate if there are many after mfg addons like wheel changes, step bars, hitch, aitbags, etc. And its further clouded by passenger weight, fuel weight, and "our stuff". But the sticker number that is most relevant is the GVWR.
Load up the Tow Vehicle with family and stuff and head over to a CAT scale. Fill up with fuel and drive across the scales. Subtract your total vehicle weight on the CAT weigh ticket from the GVWR. The answer is your remaining Payload and/or Cargo Carry Capacity. For a fifth wheel, this is your limit for Pinweight, for a Travel Trailer, this is your limit for hitch weight (unless the sticker on the hitch itself has a lower max).
The owners manual list the Max Tow Capacity but my experience has been that pin or hitch weight limits will reach max way before tow max or trailer weight.

It would help if you list the TV & TT models.

Since the Spree isn't a FR product, what kind of trailer is it, popup, A-frame, hybrid or TT?

You will not be able to pull a tt with a minivan. You are limited to pop ups with a minivan. The frontal wall surface area of a tt or even a HTT is too much for the town and country, even if you could find one with a light enough tongue weight. TT's act like a giant sail behind you and the minivan just doesn't have the weight or the wheelbase to combat that sail when the wind catches it.

Minivans have a frontal area limit.
Any full size TT will exceed that limit.
It's in your T&C's owners manual.
