Companion hitch ?

I just bought a used companion hitch. I have a heavy thick bed mat, can I mount the hitch on top of it. The mat is bolted under my tool box so I really do not want to roll it up or remove it.

The B&W instructions say that area should be cut out and removed when using it. Hopefully someone will chime in with experience using them or not.

Spray in bed liners are fine, though.

You need to roll it up or cut out where the shims go. I mounted my shims to the bed instead of the hitch.
