My wife worked in sales for 20 years. I wouldn't sell her a stick of gum - she'd beat me up! That dealership you're working with will have to make up for their "loss" on the next pigeon.

When I bought my 5er they threw in the hitch and no drill brackets at no cost. I installed myself due to I couldn't be without my truck. Then when I replace my tv I just bought new rails and brackets and reused the hitch. I told them I would go somewhere else if they didn't throw it in. They did with little hesitation and I got one heck of a deal on the unit. 5k less then other stealerships. Even came to my campsite 3 weeks later when tv and radio didn't work and brought a replacement with them and fixed on site.

Guys. Let me share this with you. We picked up our Sandpiper in September from dealer in PA. It was ordered from factory and took about 9 weeks. When we got it home the freight receipt from the transporter was in the camper. Our customer name was on it and all options we got were listed with their costs. The drivers name was on it and showed delivery cost to dealer including fuel surcharge and tolls. The bottom line was 'Cost to Dealer'. It had been blacked out with a sharpie. You could see through it in the light. $26,000 and change was the number. We paid 41k and that was a good price as it was optioned out. Toppers, vac, king bed, corian the works. Tell me they don't have room to throw you a bone for the hitch? Several people I know at the very least have bought the hitch and the dealer has installed the day of pickup for free. Some I know got whole deal thrown in. If they won't do it and its a deal breaker for you walk away and go somewhere else. You may be surprised the deal you may get elsewhere not only on the hitch but on camper. It may pay to travel a bit. Hope it works out for you

I installed my own hitch and it was a pain in the butt! Definitely worth $200 for someone else to install it (provided they've done it before) but I wouldn't pay anyone much more than that. You can get a hitch for $350 to $500 with no slider. I opted to pay a little more for the R16k no slider at $600. My dealer wanted $900 to install their hitch.

I bought a curt Q20 with rails and brackets of amazon. Bought custom brackets from local hitch dealer for $75. Installed it myself in 2 hours called multiple hitch only and trailer dealers all wanted $ 150-300 for install. Look up hitch on etrailer and amazon, etrailer will tell you install time X 85 an hour. From a 32' travel trailer to 37' fifth wheel two years ago wow what a difference will never go back!

The dealers final offer was to pay $500 for the curt q20 installed. I figured it was somewhat reasonable since I was only looking at 16k hitches. So Wednesday I will pick up the new 5er!

I think you will be very happy with the hitch (10 year warranty) and the camper. Congratulations!

We are getting the Heritage Glen 356qbq. The 4 slide, 2 full bath model. 42' overall. I'm still in shock.
