Had to replace my tires a month ago. Had a flat on my last trip, so I bit the bullet replaced the China bombs. The tire that went flat might have suffered from a blow from a pot hole or a curb check sometime in the past. Hey, it's a long trailer and being able to make a wide turn is not always possible.

X2 on the other's advice.
Replace ASAP, even if you have to pay yourself.

Would NOT go with anything but a set of BALANCED GY Marathons or Maxii LR D regardless of what the dealer or FR does. You are flirting with problems.

Whatever you get, make sure you have tire covers.

I have a question.. I just purchased a 2014 flagstaff and after reading this went out to check. And sure enough they have the westlake tire on them... that had the recall back in 2007. The tires arent that old. But is there anything to be concerned with here. I mean I have less then 150 miles on them.. I keep them covered and keep uv block on them and up on blocks when parked. But I just wondering why FR would still have these brands and putting them on new units.. Do I have any recourse here.. Would hate to have to go out and purchase new tires on a brand new unit..But I a little concerned with safety also..

FR will probably refer you to the manufacture of the tire. I had three tires replaced last fall due to cracks in the sidewall. My trailer is also a 2013. The manufacture shipped me new tires, I had to cut the codes out of the old tires and mail them back. The new tires are a different brand and seem to be holding up better than the one tire that was not replaced.

I am hoping for some sort of credit to buy a tire that I can trust. We shall see

Okay guys, first of all thank you for the advice.

Secondly, today was a good day. After talking with Lionsheads tires who is the distributor for FR and the WestLake tires, they had me file a claim. I was told that they had never seen this problem before but that they would credit me $87.50 per tire. So, I'll take it because I thought I would be paying for all of it myself.

I ended up with the Good Year Marathon (D) tires and had them put on today. I am safely now at the cabin and all is well!

I wouldn't count of FR to do ANYTHING for you. The tires might only have 1400k on them but they could still be old tires. Look for the DOT date on the side wall. ST tires should be replaced every three years of about 5-10k miles. Better safe then sorry. Also don't forget about your spare tire when getting new ones. The spare can be years older then any others and will let you down when you need it the most.

The Goodyear tires are made in China as well. Based on others here being happy with the Marathons I am fine with that.

The date on the old tires was 33rd week of 2012.

Glad to hear Lionshead gave you credit. Below is a pic of one of our 13 month old Trail Express tires. First time out this season - made it 10 miles down the road. Pressure was fine in all 4 tires when we left. Less than 3,500 miles on them. Not feeling too good about the other 3 at this point. It will be interesting to see what Lionshead and/or FR say.
