Mark the ground and fender with pieces of tape, so that you have the tape measure at the same place each measurement.

That might work.

The loss of 400 lbs. off of the front axle is pretty significant. The rear of a 3/4 ton truck can usually take the weight, but it is best if you can get more weight back on the front axle.

Were the people and cargo in the same position each weigh-in ??

Airbags do nothing to get the weight distributed. If the rear of the truck still sags once the WDH is set up correctly, then airbags would level things out. Many members here find that once the WDH is set up correctly, airbags are not needed. I just have a 1/2 ton truck with a 700 lb. tongue weight, and my truck rides pretty close to level, with the rear end still elevated slightly.

First of all thanks Lou and mtn guy for your input.
I went back to the scale today

From friday and should be close as not much change if anything in the truck.
truck gross 6480
front 3680
rear 2800

no bars
gross 15360
frnt 2920
rear 4800
camper 7640

so camper 8880
truck axles 7720
truck w/o camper 6480
tongue 1240 OMG!!!! thats crazy!!
My equalizer hitch is rated at 10000 and 1000 tongue.
so I guess I need a upgraded weight distribution hitch huh?!

When I was measuring same spot on the trucks fender for sure.
Airbags really help out my last camper and last truck. Nice ride and set up was perfect with wdh.

Between 5/18 and yesterday there was a change.....to the tune of 300 additional pounds during the 2nd weighing. If nothing was added to the camper during that time period, that the extra weight had to be added to the truck, and if that is so the indicated tongue weight might be 300 lbs. less than the tongue weight calculated. That is why it is very important to keep all cargo and passengers in the exact same spot during each weigh-in, and all done with the same trip to the scales.

So this is speculation, but here goes. The trailer axles were 100 lbs. heavier with the spring bars in place than without.....that could easily be the weight thrown back onto the trailer axles due to the WDH system. So, if the trailer axles have a net increase of around 0, then that tells me there is a 300 lb. increase in the truck weight, somewhere, somehow. Your tongue weight may only be in the 900 lb. area, but again this is speculation because of the differences in weights between the 2 dates.

A real eye opener huh...

Now you need to find out about your truck's max gross weight and see if at 7720 you are overloaded.

and

yes you do need to either put your camper on a diet; shift some weight in the camper if it is not overloaded, or buy a heavier hitch.

Herk

yes it was ! Ordered a equalizer 14000 / 1400 weight distribution anti sway hitch today. Might be a little over kill but I want the beef!
I am within the limits of the 2500HD. (9300 lbs. on the truck max , camper load of 9900 lbs.max, and combine weight 16000 lbs. max) Then Im going to set the hitch up to spec and get all 3 weights done again just to be sure. truck , truck n camper w/bars and wo/bars. I want to get the front back to what it was with out the camper.
Now I just need to find a 1 7/8 thin wall socket for the ball install.
The socket is about $55 bucks. Gonna ask around work, has to be a cheaper way of putting the ball on.
Thanks ! Happy campin

U-Haul usually has the tools and the socket.
They can torque the bolt for you for a couple of bucks.

Shame you are so far away as I have one in the tool bag.

For my pop-up, I had a simple friction sway control. When I changed trucks, I bought the new ball mount from them and they moved the ball and sway mount for a "please" and "thank you".

Maybe your local shop will do it even if you didn't buy from them...
