Curt 16245 Q24 Fifth Wheel Hitch

Was wondering if any of you out there in 5th wheel land have or are currently using this hitch?

https://www.curtmfg.com/part/16245

I currently am using a Curt 16K swivel rocker which is very capable of handling our Wildcat 353LS.

https://www.curtmfg.com/part/16115

But, I do like the idea of having two separate jaws close tightly around the kingpin and taking up any slop from like with a basic hitch.

I've got the Q20 with the roller slider. It's the same operation as the 24k. The 2 jaw is a nice system and been trouble free for 3 years and 10k miles.

Thank you for the quick reply. Sounds like it would be worth the $514 cost.

I also own a Q20 and it works great. This is my first fw hitch and has it has taken me a bit to back into it the first time but after a few pulls I got better at it. It is nice solid hitch and really quiet compared to others.

I have a q20, non slider. No complaints. Regular lube where it indicates and that's all.

Q20 slider here also, and no problems. A good, if heavy, hitch. Does what it needs and does it well.

I went from the Curt E16 to the Q20 and I like it a lot. It sounds like you have the same setup as I did. The Q20 is what you will want for your wildcat. All of the "slop" is eliminated, and I use shims between the rails and hitch to eliminate any play in the pins. I really like the Curt hitches for their build and price. Not sure they can be beat.

Hey Timmy, were your shims rubber. I had them before I had to remove the hitch, when I went to put it back in i could not get the pins in with the shims on. So now they are just inside my truck!! I seen this so I thought I would ask you about it.

I had the rubber ones, but they tended to wear quickly. I made shims from aluminum and hammered my pins in when I had the weight of the trailer on it. Not really conducive to removing the hitch a lot, but I only remove it when necessary. I'm thinking around .080-.100 usually made it snug.
