Curt BetterWeigh Mobile Towing Scale
Interesting. Gonna have to look into this and hopefully get some user feedback after its release.

Someone is already doing this. I wonder if Curt ripped off the idea or bought them out...

As someone who deals with instrumentation a lot... This seems horribly, horribly inaccurate. It does not factor in things like wind, or road slope (although I am sure the directions tell you to use a flat road on a calm day). Using the vehicle pitch angle change with load could only be accurate to a couple hundred pounds, and that if they used a mondo-expensive angle sensor.
I'd be thoroughly surprised if they can achieve an accuracy of +- 10%. For comparison sake, my truck scale at work is +-0.5% and I get yelled at a lot if my conveyor scales are off more than 1%.
A nifty idea in theory, but it's gonna go all pear-shaped on the implementation. I can hear the lawyers drooling already for the first guy to wreck his rig when the device says his weights are ok and they weren't.

Flipped icons and changed colors.
Out of curiosity, I emailed HaulGauge. Hopefully I get an answer.

HaulGauge recently sold to Curt Group, so we are working with them ("joining forces", as you said).

I respectfully disagree. The headlights are clearly different on the trucks between the two.

I never was good at the “spot the differences” game!

Just popped for 1 since the NEAREST weigh station is 30 minutes away. I don’t expect a high degree of accuracy, though they claim +/- 5%, but it will save me a bunch of time and I can still hit the weigh stations to zero it in. I am really hoping this is “close enough for government work”. If it does what it says it will, within a decent range of accuracy, I will sing it’s praises but I’m a little skeptical. Hopefully I will provide real world data for everyone when I get it.

Off Res,
If you're really in Surprise, AZ there is a Escapees SmartWeigh available in Congress, AZ around 50 miles north of you. They weigh each axel and they do a pretty good analysis of your rig. https://www.escapees.com/education/smartweigh/
We did it and found out where the weight was actually distributed on our rig.

Sorry, I thought this thread was old enough that you had sold your unit long ago. Guess I should have asked, my bad.

Good to know! I quite frequently head out of town that direction and can make an appointment when we go camping. It's a little steep on the price, though, and it's 45 minutes away so I still think that this BetterWeigh will be the "better way" to go. If it works. Thank you!
