Do you plan on upgrading to a larger RV in the near future? If so, then get it. If not, then keep what you got for now and try to get a 2014 Powerstroke next time. That is the 2nd gen 6.7.

If you're only looking at camping 15 nights a year and don't use the truck for much of anything else, it would be a waste to get the diesel. Your truck is capable, and if you're not traveling on long trips, I'd stay with it. Even if I was to buy a new one, no more than you camp and use the truck, I would stay gas. If you have intentions of upgrading camper and spending more time camping and traveling, definitely get the diesel.

Thanks for all the replies and thoughts. I took it back this morning. While I was there I checked on maintenance and it is 142.00 for the oil changes every 8000KM and seeing as how I don't even put that on in a year right now, it requires the fuel filter to be done as well at an addition $275.00. Oh and DEF Fluid is extra as required. So it would cost me $417.00 + Taxes for maintenance for a year that currently costs me $56.00. Glad I really took the time to think this through.

Thanks again.

The dealer will always rape you.

My local Firestone does a full oil change for $69 USD. That happends every 5-6K miles depending on the DIC on the truck. I usually go every 5K miles.

The fuel filter lasts about every other oil change and is about $75. The filter alone is $45 because it has a water sensor on the bottom.

Keep the gasser. No significant reason to switch. Use the money for something else.
