I don't believe the fuel to be dirty, but rather the tank that it comes from. Knowing that the filter catches most of that, I'm sure that if I dropped the tank, I'd find some goodies or maybe even some sludge that has built up over the years from filling up at different fuel stations, some of which were questionable at the time.
I haven't had any problems with the fuel...but some have.
I haven't had any problems with water in my fuel either...but some have.
Each area is different and let's face it...there's plenty of legit station owners out there, but it's not unheard of for water or soil to make it into the tanks. Otherwise, this wouldn't even have made conversation.
