Hi,

I have a totally stock 2009 Duramax with 93k miles, and tow a Silverback 33RL (rolling at 12,500#).

We're just back from wintering over on the Gulf Coast, and over 1,000 miles back to Illinois, I got 12 mpg at a steady 57 mph. Unloaded, I get a pretty reliable 18 mpg.

FWIW.

We have a 2014 diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee that we use to tow a 21 foot Rockwood 2109s. We have towed back and forth over the Rockies from Minnesota to Utah and several times to northern Minnesota. I also use the car to commute to work, 12 miles round trip, half of that being freeway, and we have taken a few long driving trips. We average 30 to 33 mpg with pure highway driving, 24 mpg commuting to work and between 15 and 17 mpg towing the trailer.
