5.0 liter v8 diesel 300 HP and 550 ft lbs torque Thats more than the early 7.3 PSD put out. Will make a nice truck.

The little 4 cyl. would be nice to see in the smaller trucks as well. Fuel economy would be great. Wonder what kind of pricing one of those guys would be? Be great daily drivers or for towing pups and such.

A 5.0 V-8 ? According to the article. It should be interesting to follow this new combo... a nice diesel in a 1/2 ton. Time for GM to take the baby duramax off the shelf. GM will have a new truck coming to replace the s- series trucks with a diesel... 2015 I think.

If Nissan really wanted to up the anti on the competition, they should go on and build it as a 3/4 ton as well, with the bigger brakes and a stronger transmission. They already build their van thing in 3/4 ton, so they have the components already in the factory.

I'm ready for the GM factory to roll out a twin turbo 6.6 with an industrial version of the Allison tranny...that would be like opening holiday gifts everyday of the year when you turn the key on that man truck ......Don't cost anything to dream!

Got ya Turbs. Back in Sept. of 2012 I saw a GM exec. in an interview on CNBC business show. He was questioned about the V-6 D-max and indicated Although all the R&D and testing was done they didn't think the market was ready for it,but indicated the engine was on the self ready to go when the time is right... go figure

No chance. GM was supposed to come out with a new truck for 2013, but when Obama took over he fired all the car guys at GM and handed over control to the union. Unfortunately they don't know how to run a company, so all the new GM models for the past 3 years have been holdovers from previous years. All the design engineers went elsewhere.
