There are approx. 38,000 members on this forum and there are a lot more rv owners not on this forum. Even out of 38,000 members there are only a few people that have problems with diesel, gassers, tire blow outs, frame problems, and ?????? The odds have it you will make a good decision.

I have a 2008 Job 2 F250 6.4 diesel. I deleted the DPF and DOC. It is now straight piped 4" exhaust. I have a Spartan tuner and an S&B Cold air intake. I got everything for about 1200 total off of the various powerstroke forum sites. I did the rather simple work myself. I have had it this way for over 40,000 miles an 1) my dealer has fixed an Idler pulley, Hydroboost pump, and a power steering pump. All under warranty as I have the ESP. My dealer had no problems with the delete as long as it was not a major repair. IMHO it is well worth doing the work I did. I never regen, sounds great, fuel mileage went from 15 or so to 20-22 dry. My engine will last longer do to no regens, my oil goes 10,000 miles( I get analysis done and they have always said test again in another 2,000 miles) but I change it anyway. All n all I spend less total on my diesel than i did my half ton gasser. If you tow 3 times or more a month during camping season, haul wood and other items, diesel is for you. I spend less in fuel with the diesel dry or towing than I did with my 5.4 gasser. Better pulling, better control, and overall cost is less to use. Diesel or nothing for me ever again!

I have a very short communte to work. 1.5 miles one way. I wanted the torque of a diesel but thought my short commute would be harder on a diesel than a gasser. Since my commute is short I wasn't too concerned for MPG. So I went with the 8.1 Chevy big block. I have not been dissapointed in the least. My gasser tows my TT like a dream and is a towing monster. I guess every situation and has different needs. You just have to weigh which option will best suit it.

Yep, that's the kind of behaviour that has the EPA going after all the Power Programmers. There all kinds of kids on Youtube that think "rolling smoke" is cool.

And a lot of them think it means power. On the contrary it means lack of power as the engine is actually not getting enough air intake so it bogs down.
