Diving board towing effect

I am towing a FR 38 ft 5th wheel with a 2500 hd diesel 3/4 ton truck. I am experiencing a diving board towing effect, what do I need to change for a smoother towing, reese 16000 hitch with roller, trail air king pin box, air psi in tires ok.

What is your 5th wheel.
How much does it weight?
What brand of truck do you have? short box long box 2 wheel or 4 wheel.
That way we have a little more info and can maybe help.

I hope someone else will help you with a better answer but that seems awful heavy for your truck. My 5w dry is 10,500 lbs. dry so after I am loaded up I know I am alot heavier probably closer to 12,000 lbs. If that is your dry weight you can add about 1500 lbs for extra stuff in your camper. The biggest problem you may have is your pin weight.
I need to get to a weight station and see my actual weights. You may want to do the same and weigh your outfit with actual weights. Air bags may help with the diving board effect but not with your weight.
Do you know your pin weight?
Mine dry is about 2000 lbs so I may be pushing my limits.
Also how fast do you drive? On some highways I have to slow down to 60 mph. I try to keep it at 65 mph.

I tow with a 2011 F250, CC, longbed, RWD, diesel and when I was looking for a fiver I felt that my truck couldn't pull any of the Cardinal fivers. I did like them but they are to heavy for the F250. The pin weight, CGWR and maybe axel weight will be over. Good Luck

you are prob within the limits but sitting right at the limit. I added bags and it smoothed the truck out . get the truck and trailer weighed and look at the #`s. my camper is 11.5k empty and total weight combined is 20K I am under everything but real close to the limit. if your truck is a OBS 07 it is the same as mine

I think Gee has figured out that his truck is severely overloaded. He fell for the 'you can pull anything on our lot' line from the salesman. Many people fall for it.

If the truck is rated for 10,000 lbs and the pin weight is 20% of the 13,480 or 2,696 lbs, it would sure seem that you are over on the truck weight?
